Tangy Wings

All of us at home love chicken wings but someone hates buffalo sauce (me), some hate barbecue (how is this even possible, I ask you) and some are unhappy with honey mustard type things. No, I didn't come combine all of these and make one magical sauce. But I did do a lot of things... some of which I'm forgetting - I'm so so sorry. Please don't hurt me. Anyway, here: Ingredients: I used about 1 kg Chicken Wings   2 cups                  Buttermilk*       Flour Spice Mix 1 cup Flour 3 tbsp Cornflour 1 tsp Salt 2 tsp Red Chilli Powder A pinch Oregano 1 tsp Garlic Powder 1 tsp Onion Powder ½ tsp  Paprika ½ tsp  White Pepper Sauce 3 tbsp Butter 3 cloves (minced) Garlic 1 tsp   Red Chilli Flakes ½ tsp  Salt 2 tsp   Brown Sugar ½ cup Mustard ½ cup  Chilli Garlic Sauce ¼ cup Chipotle** ¼ cup Habanero*** ¼ cup Vinegar 2 tbsp Soya Sauce ¼ cup BBQ Sauce ¼ cup S...

Garlic Mayo Dip.

Adapt this recipe to your taste. I like lots and lots of vinegar in mine, I'm sure the rest of you wouldn't touch it =P. Also, the original recipe uses cream instead of yogurt but I find that heavier, difficult to digest and generally sweeter. 'Sweet' has no business being in a Garlic Mayo dip -.- Ingredients Garlic Clove                                                                      1 Mayonnaise                                                                     ½ cup Salt                                             ...

Honey Sesame Chicken with Garlic Rice.

The chicken is sticky, sour and sweet; tastes great with the rice but two things to take care of while making this: Image courtesy: Cooking with Crystal. 1. Make sure you have the right kind of honey. Some types leave a certain smell and taste that overpowers and completely ruins the dish. What you're looking for isn't the flavor of the honey. It's the sticky texture and the smoky sweetness you can't get from processed sugar. If you're not a fan of honey, you can use unprocessed brown sugar but it won't retain the quality or texture given by using honey. 2. The sauce needs to be just right. If it's too thick, you won't be able to eat it with the rice because it'll dry up once cold. If it's too thin, it'll ruin the chicken and produce a dish that at best can be pronounced 'blah'. We're not looking for blah. We're looking for wowza. Okay, back to the recipe. Ingredients Chicken Chicken Breast 5...

Spicy Chicken Tortilla Wraps with Mexican Rice

I have only these words of warning for you: Lots of tomato puree. Lots of onion. Lots of spice. If you're not a fan of either of those, please go look at another milder, less tomatoey recipe. This one here is not what you want. For those who do love Mexican food (albiet a bit desi style) you'll use this recipe again and again. Seriously. It's long. Has a lot of steps but it's pretty simple and completely worth it. Also, those leftovers omg. Ingredients For the chicken Chicken Breast 2 (diced) Tomato Puree 1 tsp Salt A pinch Red Chili Powder 1 tsp Garlic 1 clove (minced) Ground Cumin 1 tsp Paprika ½ tsp Lemon Juice Of 2 lemons For the tortillas Chicken Listed above Corn 1 cup Beans (black or red, whichever you prefer) 1 cu...

Ingredients Eggs 4 (boiled) White sauce 1-2 cups Salt and pepper To taste Cheddar cheese As needed Mozzarella cheese As needed Lasagna strips As needed Thyme A pinch Rosemary leaves A pinch Oregano ¼ tsp Method First, boil the lasagna strips and set them aside (run cold water on them after draining; they won't stick together). Then boil the eggs and cut them however you like. Make the white sauce (http://www.bhookay.blogspot.com/search/label/sauce - ingredients and method for the sauce). Spread a light layer of the sauce on the bottom of the dish you plan to use in the oven. Then start building the layers: first the lasagna strips, then the sauce, the eggs, the two cheeses, black pepper and finally the herbs. For the last layer: lasagna strips, sauce, cheeses and black pepper. Limit the eggs to only tw...

Meat Lasagna with Red & White Sauce.

I've always been irritated with the lasagna recipes I find online. They use 10,000 kinds of cheese that I either don't like or can't buy here in Pakistan. And even if they were available, why would I spend thousands of rupees on something that won't even last one night? Okay, I know you foodies are probably having a heart attack while reading this but come on. You HAVE to be practical when you're cooking at home. So, I decided to try the local stuff. I mean, why the hell not? Only so much could go wrong. But oh. My. GOD . This turned out so well. This recipe is amazing. Seriously, if you're a meat lover like me who likes her pasta drowning in sauce, HAVE THIS. It's... just try it. I promise you, you'll love it.
